Commissioning an artwork is a joint adventure, and you are encouraged from the initial enquiry stage to visit my Bristol based sculpture studio or invite me to your location to discuss your ideas with me. I maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues and patrons and the collaborative approach ensures a successful project.

"I have commissioned Alec twice for new work to be displayed at National Trust properties – Nymans House in 2012 and The Vyne in 2013.

 

We selected Alec from an open call-out for work straight out of University in 2012 and were interested to see how he would cope with the pressure of producing work for a high profile exhibition. The subtlety of thought and strength of artistic production was outstanding, and for someone at his stage in his career, exceptional.

 

Alec reapplied for a show with us in 2013 and from 230 applications, we selected him as one of the ten artists, and again we are delighted with his work.

 

In addition to his obvious skills, Alec presents a very professional and personable attitude to work and I have heard positive feedback about him from another arts organisation in the South East.

 

The combination of seriousness and wit in his work ensured that it was one of the most popular commissions with the public at Unravelling Nymans and photographs of his work were picked up by a number of the publications that ran features on the exhibition."
